Graduating with a degree in Business Management from Loughborough University, Arj found that recruitment was a great career choice for him.

Arj’s Journey

Arj started his recruitment career working in FMCG and supply chain recruitment in London before moving back to his Portsmouth routes and joining Astute in 2017.  Starting on the power generation desk, Arj specialises in construction, commissioning and operations and maintenance both nationally and internationally for a variety of power plants. Through his commitment and dedication, Arj was promoted to Senior Consultant in 2020, where he continued to work in the power team whilst also mentoring and supporting our new recruits.

Career Progression

Growing up, my main sport has been cricket having played at club level for Portsmouth Cricket club and for University (although it was a struggle getting in those sides considering the talent pool). Since leaving University, weekends have become more precious where a cricket match takes up a whole Saturday. Golf has become more of a hobby and a few colleagues play so it is nice to finish a day at work and head over to the course to a twilight round. Outside of sport, you could probably find me in the pub as who doesn’t like a nice social with a cold brew (soft drink or alcoholic)? I enjoy travelling and will be a goal of mine to visit as many countries as I can as part of the ‘bucket list’, but saying this my preference is always a beach holiday as opposed to city ones. Best holiday so far will be hard to narrow down but it will be close between Egypt and Thailand.
